Construction UpdateÂ
Construction is scheduled to begin on the IDEA Weslaco Phase 3 project in May 2026. This project includes the construction of a new 26,761-square-foot building with high school classrooms, support offices, and a gymnasium.Â
Planned improvements also include interior and exterior painting, HVAC equipment replacements, parking and driveway resurfacing, and enhanced landscaping. Site upgrades will add new sidewalks, exterior lighting, playground equipment, and a new soccer field with bleacher seating.Â
These upgrades will support growing student enrollment and provide expanded spaces for academic and extracurricular programs. Construction is expected to continue through June 2027.

Construction is scheduled to begin on the IDEA Pharr Phase 3 project in May 2026. This project includes the construction of a new 25,748-square-foot building with high school classrooms, support offices, and a gymnasium.Â
Planned improvements also include interior and exterior painting, HVAC equipment replacements, parking and driveway resurfacing, and enhanced landscaping. Site upgrades will add new sidewalks, exterior lighting, playground equipment, and a new soccer field with bleacher seating.Â
This project will create a dedicated high school learning environment while strengthening athletic and student activity programs. Construction is expected to continue through June 2027.

Project OverviewÂ
IDEA Henry Phase 1 is a new, two-story campus being built to serve families in the Permian Basin and expand access to high-quality education in Midland. This project includes approximately 80,000 square feet of modern instructional and student support space, designed to support long-term academic success.Â
The new campus features high school classrooms, administrative offices, and student spaces, along with comprehensive site improvements, including utilities, paving, landscaping, irrigation, and safety infrastructure.Â
Current ProgressÂ
Construction began in April 2025 and continues on schedule. Crews are actively working on structural systems, building enclosure, and interior finishes, including mechanical, electrical, and fire protection systems.Â

This $32 million investment represents IDEA’s commitment to growing with the Midland community. Once completed, IDEA Henry Phase 1 will provide students with a state-of-the-art learning environment that supports college readiness, career pathways, and community pride.Â
