Dr. Gutierrez, a native Missourian, moved to Houston, TX in 2005 for an internship doing chemical & environmental intelligence with the French Embassy.
When he told his family in 2006 that he was leaving the engineering field to become a teacher, no one in his family was surprised. He taught for 5 years (biology, chemistry, pre-calculus and middle school technology) and spent 10 years in campus- and regional-level leadership roles before joining the IDEA Team & Family. Dr. G. completed his doctorate in Executive Leadership with a dissertation focus on different administrative models and their relative effectiveness at the high school level. The highlight of his career is serving as the launching principal of IDEA Yukon College Prep.
