Yanira Aguilar has worked at IDEA Public Schools since 2011. Prior to becoming a Principal in Residence for the El Paso region in the last year, Yanira taught at IDEA Edinburg, in addition to managing the GEAR UP program for the entire district, before transitioning to the role of Manager of College Success. She can’t wait to welcome her Academy scholars to IDEA Rio Vista in August 2018.
El Paso native, Adrian Hernandez will be the founding principal at Rio Vista College Prep in August 2018. Adrian began his work with IDEA as a Teach For America Corps Member teaching at IDEA Frontier in 2010.
After several years as a teacher-leader at Frontier, Adrian held the roles of Manager of Alumni Affairs and Director of Alumni Affairs, playing a significant role in improving IDEA’s commitment to supporting IDEA alumni to and through college. Adrian then earned his Masters of Education from Stanford University and returned as a Principal in Residence at IDEA Alamo. Jacqueline Renteria is an El Paso Native. Graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso in 2013. She joined IDEA as a founding Special Education Teacher at IDEA Rio Vista and dedicates her work to the scholars of Socorro Texas. She supported Social Emotional needs through her Academic Counselor role in 2019. Now proudly serves as IDEA Rio Vista’s Assistant Principal of Operations with the mission of college for all.
