I began my journey with the IDEA Team and Family in 2015 at IDEA San Benito in the Rio Grande Valley. There, I started as a co-teacher for Special Education. The following year, I transitioned to teaching 3rd grade ELA and dedicated two years to nurturing young minds to love reading.
Returning to my hometown, I then became a founding teacher at IDEA Edgemere, embarking on a journey as a 1st and 2nd grade ELA teacher. I was promoted to Assistant Principal of Instruction, where I oversaw curriculum and instruction for 1st to 5th grade in ELAR, Social Studies, and Intervention programs for 4 years. My career at IDEA has been defined by a commitment to education excellence and a dedication to empowering students to achieve their fullest potential. As I continue to grow professionally, I am honored to now serve as the Principal of IDEA Edgemere Academy. I am excited to lead with vision and compassion, ensuring a supportive environment is present so all of my students can thrive academically and personally.
Continue ReadingI am a native El Pasoan starting my 32nd year in education and my 14th year in school administration. My years in education have taken me from high and middle school teaching to coaching everything under the sun. I have loved every minute of it and look forward to spending the next few years doing the same thing. As an El Pasoan and educator, I’m tremendously excited IDEA Public Schools is in the El Paso Region and giving students a fantastic opportunity at an excellent education. On a personal note, I like spending my time off with my wife and watching Texas Tech athletics.
