Another 2026 College Signing Day event is in the books! Last week, our Tarrant County region brought all the hype and excitement as they hosted their first CSD event! 

Seniors from IDEA Achieve and IDEA Rise took center stage as they announced loud and proud the colleges they will be attending this upcoming fall. Our 79 seniors from our Tarrant County region submitted over 859 applications and received 413 acceptances, including one from an Ivy League university. 

IDEA Tarrant County Executive Director Dr. Dionel Waters and IDEA’s CEO and Superintendent Jeff Cottrill presented four seniors with scholarships that will help fund their journeys to and through college. These scholarships included: four Give Me 5 scholarships ($7,000), one EPIC scholarship ($10,000), and one Al and Judy Lopez scholarship ($10,000). The recipient of the EPIC scholarship, presented by EPIC Insurance Brokers & Consultants, was David Morur from IDEA Achieve! Awarded our Al and Judy Lopez scholarship was Estela Castro from IDEA Achieve! 

Many of our seniors from our IDEA Tarrant County region will stay close to home, with many acceptances to Baylor University, Texas Wesleyan University, University of North Texas, and University of Texas at Arlington. Other top universities our scholars will be attending include Texas A&M University, Oklahoma State University, Penn State, the University of Miami, and more! 

Congratulations to our first graduating classes from IDEA Achieve and IDEA Rise! You all are setting the standard and tone for the classes that will follow you. Your resilience, hard work, and determination will carry you through, and the IDEA Team and Family look forward to seeing all that you accomplish!
