The celebrations continued as we headed over to El Paso to celebrate our graduating class of 2026!
Nearly 200 seniors from IDEA Edgemere, IDEA Mesa Hills, and IDEA Rio Vista took the stage at the El Paso Convention Center as they announced their college picks with family and friends. Our IDEA El Paso seniors submitted over 1,960 applications and received 885 acceptances to selective and highly selective colleges.
Seven scholarships were awarded at our El Paso College Signing Day, with five Give Me scholarships and one Al and Judy Lopez scholarship. The recipients of the Give Me 5 scholarships were: Eliana Lopez and Emiliano Salazar from IDEA Edgemere, Dharma Talavera and Yakira Torres from IDEA Mesa Hills and Paulina Game and Joaquin Martinez from IDEA Rio Vista. Manuel Rubio from IDEA Mesa Hills received our Al and Judy Lopez scholarship presented by IDEA’s CEO and Superintendent Dr. Jeff Cottrill. Additionally, Eliana Lopez from IDEA Edgemere was awarded the Terry Foundation Scholarship, a full ride scholarship that will fund her college journey at the University of Texas at El Paso.
Scholars from our IDEA El Paso class of 2026 have been accepted to colleges such as New Mexico State University, Texas Tech University, Arizona State University, University of Texas at Austin, and more.
Congratulations to all our graduating seniors from our El Paso region! College Signing Day marks the start of their individual journeys to and through college, and the IDEA Team and Family couldn’t be more proud of them!
