IDEA Seniors at College Signing Day 2022 revealing their college selections (L to R: NYU, UTRGV, Johns Hopkins University

Congratulations to IDEA Seniors who earned the AP Scholars Designation in 2022!

IDEA Public Schools has received official Advanced Placement (AP) test results, and we are excited to share that 30% of seniors in our AP for All program earned the AP Scholar designation in 2022!

Each fall, the College Board’s AP Program recognizes high school students who have demonstrated outstanding college-level achievement through their performance on multiple AP Exams. AP Scholar status is granted to students earning a score of 3 or higher on at least three AP exams.

According to the College Board’s AP program, 22.5% of U.S. public high school graduates from the class of 2021 scored a 3 or higher on at least 1 AP Exam. With IDEA earning an outstanding 30% AP scholar designation, we are eager to congratulate our seniors who scored above the national average.

Help us shout out the IDEA College Preps that hit their AP Goals as a campus:

  • IDEA College Preparatory Pharr (62.96%)
  • IDEA College Preparatory McAllen (45.56%)
  • IDEA Carver College Preparatory (45.21%)
  • IDEA College Preparatory San Juan (43.16%)
  • IDEA Riverview College Preparatory (41.44%)
  • IDEA Quest College Preparatory (39.02%)
  • IDEA Frontier College Preparatory (38.75%)
  • IDEA College Preparatory Edinburg (34.85%)
  • IDEA College Preparatory Weslaco (32.58%)

IDEA’s AP for All Program prepares students for the demands of college, enhances their applications to Tier I and Tier II schools, and increases the likelihood of completing their degree. In addition, taking a single AP course, and passing the corresponding exam makes a student over six times more likely to earn their college degree and save money in college.

IDEA’s dedicated curriculum team drives success year after year by providing teachers with the training, assessments, and resources they need to challenge every scholar and get results. Success in AP courses is due in part to the vertically aligned, rigorous curriculum that begins in the early grades at IDEA and builds students’ disciplinary knowledge and skills over time.

A heartfelt congratulations to each of this year’s AP Scholars and the talented educators who help coach every scholar on the road to and through college.
