Every Student, Every Day: Why Attendance Matters

September is Attendance Awareness Month, and we believe helping students reach their full potential is a team effort. Students, families, and staff all play an important role in building strong attendance habits. When students are at school consistently, they have more opportunities to participate in lessons, collaborate with classmates, build relationships with teachers, and stay connected to their learning.

Throughout September, we’ll celebrate attendance, share helpful reminders, and recognize our students and families for their partnership across our campuses.  Together, we can help every student make the most of every school day and continue working toward their full potential.

A Little Routine Can Go a Long Way

One of the best ways families can support good attendance is by creating a routine that works for them. Getting backpacks ready the night before, setting a consistent bedtime, and having clothes ready for the morning can help make school mornings a little easier for everyone. It also helps to talk with your child about school. Ask what they’re looking forward to, what they enjoy, or if there’s anything making it harder for them to want to come to school. Sometimes, a simple conversation can help uncover something your child may need support with.

We’re Here to Support Your Family

We know that sometimes things come up that can make getting to school difficult. When that happens, our campus teams are here to help. You may hear from us when your child is absent, or we may check in to see if there’s anything your family needs.

Our teams can also help connect families with community resources, meet with you to talk through attendance concerns, and work together to find solutions. And every day, our teachers are focused on building strong relationships with students so they feel welcomed, supported, and excited to be at school.
