Biography

Michael, a Buffalo, NY native, graduated from St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute before attending Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT. There, he studied Government and Politics, played varsity basketball, and became a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. After completing his studies at Wesleyan, Michael joined City Year AmeriCorps, dedicating a year of service to a South Bronx public school. He then taught at Septima Clark Public Charter School in Washington, DC, working with students across different grade levels. 

Subsequently, Michael became a Teacher at Success Academy in NYC, where he later pursued a master’s degree in Elementary Education and Special Education at Touro College. He taught various subjects in the Bronx and Harlem before advancing to the role of Assistant Principal. During his time at Success Academy, Michael made significant contributions, including founding Success Academy Myrtle Middle School in Brooklyn, NY, and serving as Successor Principal at Bed-Stuy Middle School for the majority of his tenure. As Principal, he consistently achieved top 1% ranking on the NY State Math test and top 2% ranking on the NY State ELA test at both campuses. 

Most recently, Michael has been the Vice President of Schools in the Greater Austin Region, overseeing multiple campuses and driving strong successes and continuous growth throughout the entire region.
