46 IDEA Schools Earn an “A” Rating

As we kick off 2024 and look ahead to the testing season, we remain especially focused on learning and student achievement. For the 2022-23 school year, the Texas Education Agency (TEA) did not release school accountability ratings publicly.

However, IDEA Public Schools proactively requested STAAR results for each campus and TEA’s planned scale scores for letter grades to gain a comprehensive overview of district and campus performance.

Our dedicated team and family work relentlessly to ensure IDEA students have access to the best academic opportunities on their path to and through college. While there is work to be done, the results validate IDEA’s track record of delivering an exceptional education to communities that need us most.

Here are some district highlights:

  • 72% of schools received an A or B rating
  • 46 schools received an A-rating and 42 schools received B-ratings
  • 79% of students approach grade level standards or above
  • 50% of students meet grade level standards or above
  • 20% of students master grade level standards
  • Nine campuses met their campus driving goal with both Academy and College Preparatory earning an A-rating including:
    • IDEA Brownsville
    • IDEA Frontier
    • IDEA Mays
    • IDEA Riverview
    • IDEA Robinson
    • IDEA Round Rock Tech
    • IDEA San Benito
    • IDEA Toros
    • IDEA Weslaco Pike

As a district, IDEA also received a scaled score and letter grade in three performance areas: Student Achievement, School Progress, and Closing the Gaps:

  • Student Achievement: 80
  • School Progress: 86
  • Closing the Gaps: 83
  • IDEA District Accountability Rating Score: 85 (B)

These achievements come after the TEA has raised the bar for each level of the rating system, and we will continue to work toward this high bar because it’s what is best for IDEA’s 80,000 students. We will continue to work toward growth at all campuses in our quest for every campus to achieve an A rating, and we know this is possible, as our students’ success is limitless.

Congratulations to the following schools which were awarded A-ratings including:
