Construction is scheduled to begin on the IDEA McAllen Phase 3 expansion in June 2026. This project will include the construction of a new 29,988-square-foot gymnasium and classroom wing, along with interior and exterior improvements across the campus.
Planned interior upgrades include classroom renovations, interior painting, and HVAC system improvements. Exterior work will focus on improving parking areas, landscaping, and the development of a competition soccer field with a jogging trail and sports lighting.
As one of the district’s largest Phase 3 projects, this expansion will significantly increase space for both academic instruction and competitive athletics. Construction is expected to continue through August 2027.
