Doing Business with IDEA

By publicly posting the following written disclosure, IDEA Public Schools intends that market participants receive and use it for purposes of the independent registered municipal advisor exemption to the SEC Municipal Advisor Rule. IDEA Public Schools has retained an independent registered municipal advisor. IDEA Public Schools is represented by and will rely on its municipal advisor, First Southwest Company, to provide advice on proposals from financial services firms concerning the issuance of municipal securities. The individuals with primary responsibility for advising IDEA Public Schools on such matters are Cris Vela, Drew Masterson and Francine Stefan. This certificate may be relied upon until June 30, 2015 or otherwise withdrawn by us.

Contacting Board Members

Per IDEA Policy vendors shall not contact Board members individually for the purpose of soliciting a purchase or contract between the time a request for proposal or a bid is formally released, and a recommendation is made by the administration to the Board. If a vendor violates this prohibition during this time frame, consideration of the vendor for award shall be invalidated. Board members shall be notified of possible violations and actions taken.  

Public Information Request

Chapter 552 of the Texas Government Code, also known as the Public Information Act (PIA), gives the public the right to access certain government records, including records that pertain to the operation of IDEA Public Schools’ open-enrollment charter schools.

Tax Status

IDEA Public Schools claims an exemption from taxes under Article 20.04(E) 4&5 for the purchase of tangible personal property. Contact the Procurement Team for IDEA Public Schools’ Federal I.D. number.

Purchase Orders

An official purchase order contains an authorized purchase order number and signature. An IDEA Public Schools Purchase Order or P-Card is the only recognized methods for the purchase of goods or materials obligating IDEA for payment.

Delivery of Materials

Purchase Orders issued by IDEA will specify the appropriate delivery address. Any questions regarding delivery should be directed to the campus representative.
