The 2020-21 school year as a mix of virtual and in-person instruction for many of our students. Before the school year ended, we asked them to share their experiences and what they are looking forward to the most about being in person with all of their friends and teachers for the 2021-22 school year. Here is what they shared!

“I really liked when I did virtual learning because I stayed home and wore my IDEA shirt on top and pajama pants on the bottom! I’m back at school now, and it’s fun. I really want to eat in the cafeteria again with my friends next year.” – Caelyn Pacheco, 1^st grader from IDEA Edgemere

Briella Garza, a Pre-K student from IDEA North Mission, is excited about becoming a Kindergarten student. She’s ready to play on the playground and connect with her classmates!

“I enjoyed virtual learning because it limited distractions, but I am so excited to return to school next year. I play football, basketball and baseball for IDEA Rundberg, and I am so excited to play for the school team again after a year away.” – Daquan Bunton, 9^th grader from IDEA Rundberg

“Being virtual was a great experience for my sons, even as students with special needs. The teachers made sure they had the necessary tools for learning, even dropping off some learning materials at our house. I’m looking forward to them returning to school next year so that they can socialize and get back to an in-person routine.” – Mother of Jacob and Jonathon Paz, 2^nd graders from IDEA Mesa Hills

“This is my first year at IDEA Travis. I started the year with virtual learning but switched to going to school in person. I’m excited to start the next school year and be with all of my friends and teachers.” – Frederick Coley, 5^th grader from IDEA Travis

“I’m excited to have everyone back at school because virtual class was lonely sometimes. It’s better to see my teachers in person.” – Jace Prescott, 5th grader from IDEA Travis

“I am excited for next school year because I will be meeting friends again and returning to fun stuff in the gym!” – Jonah Papovich, 7^th grader from IDEA Pflugerville

El año escolar 2020-21 fue una mezcla de instrucción virtual y presencial para muchos de nuestros estudiantes. Les pedimos que compartieran sus experiencias y que nos contaran que es lo que más esperan al volver a estar en persona con todos sus amigos y maestros para el año escolar 2021-22. ¡Esto es lo que compartieron!

“¡Me gustó mucho cuando tuve clases en línea porque me quedaba en casa y me ponía mi camisa de IDEA y los pantalones de la pijama! Ahora estaré de vuelta en la escuela, y será divertido. Tengo muchas ganas de volver a comer en la cafetería con mis amigos el año que viene.” – Caelyn Pacheco, estudiante de 1er grado de IDEA Edgemere.

Briella Garza, una estudiante de Pre-K de IDEA North Mission, está entusiasmada por convertirse en estudiante de Kindergarten. ¡Está lista para jugar en el patio de la escuela y convivir con sus compañeros de clase!

“Las clases en línea, fueron una gran experiencia para mis hijos, incluso como estudiantes con necesidades especiales. Los maestros se aseguraron de tener las herramientas necesarias para el aprendizaje, incluso dejando algunos materiales de aprendizaje en nuestra casa. Deseo que regresen a la escuela el próximo año para que puedan socializar y volver a una rutina en persona.” Mamá de Jacob y Jonathan Paz, estudiantes de 2ndo grado de IDEA Mesa Hills.

“Este es mi primer año en IDEA Travis. Comencé el año con clases en línea, pero lo cambié a Instrucción presencial. Estoy emocionado de comenzar el próximo año escolar y estar con todos mis amigos y maestros.” –  Frederick Coley, estudiante de 5to grado de IDEA Travis.

“Disfruté el aprendizaje virtual porque limitaba mis distracciones, pero estoy muy emocionado de regresar a la escuela el próximo año. Juego fútbol, baloncesto y béisbol para IDEA Rundberg y estoy muy emocionado de volver a jugar para el equipo de la escuela después estar fuera todo un año.” – Daquan Bunton, estudiante de 9vno grado de IDEA Rundberg

“¡Estoy emocionado por el próximo año escolar porque me volveré a reunir con amigos y volveré a hacer cosas divertidas en el gimnasio!” – Jonah Papovich, estudiante de 7mo grado de IDEA Pflugerville.
