Rosy Chapa was raised in Las Islas Ranch located in San Isidro, Texas. She attended the University of Texas Pan American and received her bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies with a minor in Bilingual Education in May 2000.
Rosy married Santos Chapa in June 2000. They have four beautiful children, Juliana Chapa, 16-years old, Santos Chapa Jr., 13-years old, and Sebastian and Silvan Chapa, 9-year old twins. All her children play soccer and she is a proud soccer mom.
Rosy’s passion has always been working with children. With this in mind, she decided to continue her education at the University of Texas Pan American. She graduated in 2007 with a masters in Bilingual Education and a Mid management certification. Rosy worked for ECISD as a teacher, then a curriculum assistant for 8 years before joining IDEA Quest Academy.
Rosy owes all her successes to her family and God. She hopes to continue making a difference in children’s lives.
Jose De Leon is originally from Edcouch, Texas, where he attended Edcouch-Elsa High School. He is a 1997 graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
He began his career in education as a math teacher at Weslaco East High School, where he taught for four years. After earning his Masters in educational leadership from the University of Texas-Pan American, he became a founding Assistant Principal of Sauceda Middle School in Donna. Thereafter, he returned to his hometown as assistant principal of Truan Junior High. In 2007, he became Principal of Edcouch-Elsa High School and began leading his alma mater. While principal, he personally directed the math department to achieve an 11 point increase in TAKS scores in just two years.
De Leon left Edcouch-Elsa ISD to help fulfill the IDEA mission of College For All Children. As a former migrant worker, he knows first-hand the power of a college education. He is a strong instructional leader who helped guide IDEA Quest to graduate its first of many 100% college-bound classes.
