Welcome to IDEA Events Happening this Spring

At IDEA, we believe family engagement involves open, two-way communication between the school and the family. Together, we are united in a common mission to foster student growth and development. One of the first chapters of this relationship is each campus’s “Welcome to IDEA” events. Read on to learn more about these important events.

What is Welcome to IDEA?

Welcome to IDEA events allow parents, teachers, and administrators to build authentic relationships and begin their work as a team. When the school and family relationship is cultivated and nurtured, students are academically, socially, and emotionally successful in college and beyond. At Welcome to IDEA, we look to provide families with the ultimate onboarding experience to be able to understand the structures and systems within our schools. Welcome to IDEA is required for all NEW students. Events occur before the first day of school.

Why is my attendance at Welcome to IDEA important?

Welcome to IDEA provides the opportunity for parents, students, and staff to become familiar with each other and address any needs or concerns.  This event allows for the campus and family to build open communication with each team member.

In addition, each Welcome to IDEA event allows for your child to meet teachers, talk to the leadership team and learn about our campus-specific programming and extracurricular programs!

Whom can I contact if I was not able to attend Welcome to IDEA or have questions about my child’s enrollment/registration?

To learn more about a campus-level Welcome to IDEA event, please reach out to your child’s campus.

As a new-to-IDEA family, what are some important dates to look forward to?

Feb-June: Student Registration

April-August: Welcome to IDEA season begins

August 2023: Summer Culture Camp for new students

August 2023: Meet the Teacher Night

How will my campus communicate with me?

You should expect to hear from your campus via Stream. Be sure to also follow your new IDEA campus on Facebook, too. For more information, please contact your child’s campus. We look forward to partnering with you on your scholar’s journey to and through college!
