At IDEA Public Schools, we believe that great teaching changes lives and that teachers deserve pay that reflects their impact. 

Thanks to new investments in public education through House Bill 2 (HB 2), we’ve raised our teacher pay scales across all IDEA Texas regions for the 2025-26 school year. That means even more competitive salaries for passionate, dedicated educators who are ready to make a difference.

This increase builds on the strong foundation we’ve already laid through recent compensation investments, and it reinforces our commitment to keeping IDEA’s teacher pay among the most competitive in every region we serve. We’re proud of our approach to compensation—and proud to continue investing in the incredible educators who make our mission possible.  

Here are some wins we’re especially excited about: 

• Bigger paychecks for experienced teachers. The Teacher Retention Allotment built into HB2 is enabling us to provide larger salary increases to experienced teachers than we have in quite a few years, with $5,000 increases for teachers with 5 or more years of experience and $2,500 increases for teachers with 3 or 4 years of experience. 

• Raises for all IDEA Texas teachers. Even newer teachers will receive a $1,000–$1,500 salary increase, depending on the region. 

• Bonus payments for returning staff. Teachers returning from the 2024–25 school year will receive a Commitment to Excellence bonus, based on years of service. 
• Additional performance bonuses. Teachers who achieved a Level 3–5 on our Teacher Career Pathway (TCP) in 2022–23 or 2023–24 may receive up to $6,666 in “Grow with IDEA” payments (final amount to be determined in November based on 2024–25 placement). 
• Unique benefits and career development. We offer targeted support, instructional coaching, and a clear path to leadership.
