IDEA Public Schools is excited to announce that Nanette Cocero, PH.D., MBA and former Global President for Pfizer Vaccines, has been appointed to the Board of Directors for IDEA Public Schools.
In this role, Dr. Cocero will serve on the board overseeing the development of the organization and apply her years of experience to advance IDEA’s mission to ensure that all children have access to a high-quality education that equips them for success in college and beyond. She will also serve on the Academic and Governance Committees.
“We are beyond thrilled to have Dr. Cocero join the Board of Directors,” said Jeff Cottrill, Ed.D., IDEA Public Schools Superintendent. “IDEA will benefit from her leadership, guidance and support. She is strongly passionate about education and values our goal in sending children to and through college. We are excited to channel her talent and expertise to further our mission.”
Dr. Cocero has been the Global President of Pfizer Vaccines for the last four years, leading the development, marketing and delivery of innovative vaccines to drive the prevention of serious and life-threatening diseases. With over 25 years of experience in diverse leadership positions, Dr. Cocero is a recognized global leader with broad commercial and business acumen coupled with an extensive clinical background and scientific expertise. Dr. Cocero’s experience includes leading global teams of 3,500+ colleagues and managing diverse portfolios. Before joining Pfizer, Dr. Cocero was a management consultant in the biotech and pharmaceutical industry.
She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from Cornell University, a Ph.D. in pharmacology from the University of Pennsylvania, and an MBA from The Wharton Business School.
