IDEA Public Schools is excited to announce that 81 IDEA Elementary and Middle Schools Rank Among the Top 25% in Texas by U.S. News and World Report.
In this year’s addition, nearly 47,000 elementary schools and 23,000 middle schools were ranked at the state and district levels. Ranking factors are weighted by 25% each for math proficiency, math performance, reading proficiency, and reading performance. All grade levels in the report use the same methodology.
“The road to and through college begins early, and these results reaffirm our mission to ensure every student receives a high-quality education from day one,” Dr. Jeff Cottrill, Superintendent and CEO of IDEA Public Schools, shared. “These rankings reflect the extraordinary dedication of our teachers, leaders, and families who believe in our students’ limitless potential.”
Here are some of the key stats from the report:
Elementary
- 51 IDEA elementary schools earned the U.S. News and World Report’s “Best Elementary Schools” distinction.
- IDEA Mays Academy is the highest-ranking IDEA elementary school, ranked among the top 8% in Texas.
- 11 IDEA elementary schools ranked in the top 10% of charter elementary schools in Texas.
- 24 IDEA elementary schools ranked in the top 25% of all elementary schools in Texas.
Middle Schools
- 61 IDEA middle schools earned the U.S. News and World Report’s “Best Middle Schools” distinction.
- IDEA Quest College Preparatory is the highest-ranking IDEA middle school, ranked among the top 4% in Texas.
- 22 IDEA middle schools ranked in the top 10% of all middle schools in Texas.
