How to Apply 

Applying is quick and easy! If you’re interested in joining the IDEA Team & Family in one of the following regions: Rio Grande Valley, Austin, San Antonio, Tarrant County, El Paso, Greater Houston, IDEA Yukon in the Permian Basin, Florida, or Cincinnati, simply visit https://www.ideapublicschools.org/apply to complete your application.  Applications for IDEA Travis in Midland will open via Apply Midland.

The Baton Rouge application will open on October 1. Communications will be provided to families once the applications are available.

The Lottery Process 

After submitting your application, you’ll be entered into our lottery, where we randomly select students to fill available spots at each IDEA school. Here are the lottery dates for the following regions: 

• January 11, 2025: For schools in Louisiana (IDEA Bridge and IDEA Innovation). 

• February 15, 2025: For schools in Texas, Florida, and Ohio. (IDEA Travis in Midland is not included on this date, please visit Apply Midland for more information.)

If your child is selected, you’ll receive an invitation to attend a “Welcome to IDEA” event, where we celebrate your acceptance and introduce you to our vibrant school culture, rigorous curriculum, and high expectations.

This event is just the beginning of your child’s journey at IDEA. You will also attend testing and registration events to officially enroll at IDEA Public Schools. 

Students not selected in the lottery will be placed on a waitlist, with their position determined by a random drawing. Should a spot become available, we’ll notify you immediately and guide you through the next steps to join our school community.
