IDEA Public Schools is proud to announce that 126 schools across all regions have been honored on the Alliance for a Healthier Generation’s 2025 list of “America’s Healthiest Schools.”
We’re also excited to share that 51 IDEA schools earned the prestigious All-Star Award from Alliance for a Healthier Generation, recognizing schools that go above and beyond in creating a healthy environment for students, staff, and families.
This year’s awards are especially meaningful as we celebrate 10 years of Healthy Kids Here, our district-wide initiative to support student well-being through nutritious meals, daily physical activity, and strong wellness policies.

A Decade of Healthy Kids Here
This recognition marks a new milestone for IDEA’s Healthy Kids Here program, which celebrated its 10th anniversary last year. Launched in 2014, Healthy Kids Here is on a mission to make IDEA one of the healthiest school districts in the country. The program focuses on three key areas: providing nutritious food, promoting physical fitness, and instilling lifelong healthy habits.
Healthy Kids Here is dedicated to helping students establish a strong foundation of healthy habits. Every day, students receive nutritious meals and snacks, thanks in part to our twelve campus farm programs that supply locally grown, organic produce. Our physical fitness initiatives ensure scholars stay active and strong, while our educational programs teach students and their families about proper hygiene and healthy living.
The success of Healthy Kids Here is driven by our campus Health and Wellness teams, who work closely with IDEA’s Child Nutrition Program and PE coaches to deliver impactful health programming and education throughout the year.
“At IDEA Public Schools, our commitment extends beyond the classroom—we strive to support every student’s academic journey by prioritizing their physical and mental well-being,” said Eva Rodriguez, Vice President of Student Health and Wellness for IDEA Public Schools. “Through comprehensive health services, nutritious meals, regular physical activity, and education on lifelong healthy habits, we create an environment where students can thrive. This recognition from the Alliance for a Healthier Generation affirms the dedication of our staff and the success of our Healthy Kids Here program in fostering healthier school communities.”
