Cyndia Vasquez began teaching in 2006 as a Kinder teacher in McAllen ISD. In 2008, she graduated with a Masters degree in Bilingual Education and Leadership, then transitioned to teaching 3rd grade with bilingual students.
She joined IDEA as a Assistant Principal of Instruction in 2012 after many years as a successful bilingual teacher-leader in the PSJA school district. In the summer of 2017, she joined the Principal in Residence program, ready to take the next step to positively impact the outcomes for even more students and families in the Rio Grande Valley, a community she was born and raised in.
In November 2017, she was named the Founding Principal for IDEA Owassa Academy. As the Founding Principal at IDEA Owassa, Cyndi consistently leads her academy-level teachers and students to impressive results year after year. She continues to thrive in leading the Mighty Broncs at Owassa Academy.
Stevie Luera has more than a decade of experience working at IDEA as an incredibly successful teacher and leader. Whether leading her own students, or later on, her teachers, to some of the highest ACT and English AP results in the district year over year, Stevie has continuously achieved an impressive record of results.
