IDEA has partnered with TEA Connect Texas to provide free, high-speed home internet for students who currently lack adequate access! All IDEA families without internet in Texas are eligible for this 100% free service. This new partnership is part of our commitment to support students at school and at home with equitable access to the highest-quality education on the path to and through college.
The process is quick and easy. Read on for three simple next steps to secure free, high-speed internet at home:
Step 1: visit https://teaconnecttexas.com/ and type or select IDEA PUBLIC SCHOOLS, (108807) in the bar labeled “select your school or school district.”
Step 2: fill out the appropriate information. Please have your student ID number(s), phone number and email address accessible, as this information will be required to proceed.
Step 3: enter your address to set up home installation.
That’s it! Once we confirm the following information below, TEA Connect Texas will contact you to arrange the installation:
- Your student is currently enrolled with IDEA Public Schools.
- You do not currently have internet service.
- Your household can be serviced by a major participating provider (Spectrum, AT&T, Comcast).

If you are an IDEA Parent who does not live in Texas, IDEA is in process of arranging district-sponsored internet programs through The Affordable Connectivity Plan. The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) helps low-income households pay for broadband service and internet connected devices . In the meantime, families without internet can apply for the Emergency Broadband Benefit directly by visiting https://acpbenefit.org/ .
