Happy New Year IDEA Team and Family! 2025 is here, can you believe it?
As we move forward into this new year, we’d love to reflect on some of our top moments we shared on our social media channels. From student and staff celebrations, accomplishments, and overall great moments, here’s our list of our top five moments from 2024!
- IDEA Frontier’s Mr. Scott Frank and Outstanding Teaching of the Humanities Award
Earlier this year, we celebrated our very own Scott Frank, International Baccalaureate History and U.S. History teacher at IDEA Frontier, for being named a recipient of the 2023 Outstanding Teacher of the Humanities Award from Humanities Texas.
For his outstanding teaching, he was recognized in a ceremony held on campus where he was presented with an award by Senator Morgan LaMantia.
- $20 Million Investment Towards Staff Compensation Announcement
At the beginning of our summer break, we announced our groundbreaking $20 million dollar boost to compensation for our Team and Family. Changes in our compensation would feature our continued investment in our Teacher Career Pathway Program, as well as our Excellence Program in which staff members will receive $100 for every year of service upon their return the following year.
- Expansion in Permian Basin: Announcement of IDEA Lopez
The beginning of the 2024-25 school year was filled with lots of back-to-school content! In addition, we announced our plans to expand in our Permian Basin region with the launch of IDEA Lopez. Named after the late Al Lopez, former acting CEO and superintendent, this campus will open in West Odessa for the 2025-26 school year.
- Campuses Celebrating Historical Total Solar Eclipse
The month of April brought us a historical Total Solar Eclipse that our campuses got to view! Students got to participate in out-of-this-world activities while learning about the solar system and what causes an eclipse. The last time a Total Solar Eclipse was seen in the United States was in 2017!
- 27 Students from IDEA’s Class of 2025 Awarded Scholarships Through QuestBridge
To wrap up the year and this list, we bring in the top moment shared on social media for 2024!
In December, 27 seniors from the Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, and Austin were selected as National College Match Scholarship recipients through QuestBridge! These scholars were awarded full-ride scholarships to some of the nation’s top colleges and universities. See the full list here on our blog.
