College Signing Day Events in the Rio Grande Valley Recognize 1,300 Seniors from the Class of 2023

IDEA seniors in the Rio Grande Valley revealed their college decisions in front of friends, family, and scholars over two days at the McAllen Convention Center in McAllen, Texas. This season of joy and celebration is proof of the hard work and effort our Team and Family invest in achieving our mission of College for All.

Over the course of two days, we welcomed over 1,300 seniors from 17 IDEA campuses in the Rio Grande Valley to reveal their college decision to nearly 2,500 friends, family, and IDEA scholars. IDEA Seniors in the Rio Grande Valley’s Class of 2023 have a combined 7,322 college acceptances, with 13 acceptances to Ivy League schools and 2,500 acceptances to selective and highly selective colleges.

Collectively, the IDEA Rio Grande Valley Class of 2023 has achieved more than $82 million in scholarships. Two scholars received the annual Judy and Al Lopez Scholar award for $10,000 in memory of IDEA’s late Acting CEO. The recipients for this year’s Judy and Al Lopez Scholarship Endowment award were Alexa Perez from IDEA Sports Park, Ruben Mireles from IDEA Toros, Ashley Olvera from IDEA Frontier, and Jimena Guzman from IDEA Alamo.

Students from this year’s graduating class have been accepted to MIT, University of Chicago, University of Pennsylvania, Boston University, Northeastern University, University of Notre Dame, Cornell, Princeton, Yale and many more.

We would like to congratulate each scholar of the graduating class of 2023 and their families on this momentous occasion and invite our entire Team & Family and the community to help us congratulate the collective success of the IDEA Class of 2023!
