We are thrilled to begin receiving applications for the 2021-22 school year.
IDEA currently serves nearly 66,000 college-bound students in 120 schools across Texas and Louisiana. We are also gearing up to open schools in Florida next year.
From the first day students set foot on an IDEA Public Schools campus, we begin preparing them for success in college and in life. We achieve our record of 100% college acceptance through a focus on personalized learning, and character and leadership development.
The journey to and through college begins at a young age. From Pre-K & Kinder, to middle school, to high school – we’re dedicated to making sure that all children succeed every step of the way. When you choose IDEA Public Schools, you’re choosing a school district that believes all children can and will succeed if given the opportunity.
Since our first graduating class in 2007, 100% of our graduating seniors have been accepted to college and universities nationwide.
Through small learning groups and daily access to technology, every student learns at the level and speed just right for them.
Our teachers bring subject-matter expertise and an unwavering commitment to set each student on a path to success.
Beyond academics, our enrichment programs develop independent, responsible citizens who give back to their communities.
Like a traditional public school, any child can attend IDEA without paying tuition. So put another way, attending IDEA is free for your child and family!
Prospective students are not required to take an entrance exam to be considered for admission – meaning anyone can apply and all students are eligible!
In Texas, your child must be at least 4 (for Pre-K) or 5 years of age (for Kinder) on or by September 1, 2021.
In Louisiana, students must be 5 years of age (for Kinder) on or by September 30, 2021.
In Florida, students who will reach the age of 5 on or before September 1, 2021 can enter Kinder.
To be part of our student lottery you must submit your child’s application by midnight CST the evening before. We strongly encourage parents to apply before this time to have the best chance to attend IDEA!
Find all lottery details for Texas, Tampa Bay, and Baton Rouge here. NOLA families go through a different process and can learn more and apply here.
You’ll receive a notification and can login online to easily accept your child’s seat. Then we’ll invite you to join our IDEA family onboarding process, where you’ll get to know your child’s principal and teachers, meet fellow families, tour the school facilities, ask questions, and become part of our community through a variety of in-person events.
If students are not granted a seat at lottery, they will be placed on a waitlist for the remainder of the 2021-22 school year until a seat potentially opens up for them. They can also have the option attend a different IDEA school then transfer to your preferred IDEA campus if a seat opens up there.
Don’t worry. We completely understand! Deciding where your child goes to school is one of the most important choices for a parent. You can get more details on our admission process, lottery, and special programs on our FAQs web page. You can also find a variety of other ways to contact us directly via phone or email on our contact us web page.
