Ryan Vaughan is the President and CEO of Western Leather Goods Inc., known as Rios of Mercedes Boot Company, which has been handcrafting boots for more than 160 years.
More than 500 retailers throughout the World sell the company’s multiple brands, which are made in the Rio Grande Valley and in Leon, Mexico. Ryan values community service and devotes a portion of his time to improving the places where he lives and works. He serves on the Knapp Community Care Foundation Board and the Knapp Medical Center Foundation Board is active in the leadership of the Weslaco Lions Club and raises money for local scholarships through multiple organizations. Ryan has been part of the leadership team for Mid-Valley Relay for Life for the past 20 years. He is a member of the Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show Board of Directors as well as the Western Industry Leadership Council. Ryan earned his undergraduate degree from Sam Houston State University.
