Today, the Texas Education Agency released its School and District A-F Accountability Ratings, and IDEA Public Schools earned a B (89).

Each year, the Texas Education Agency grades schools based on their performance, and just like students – the highest score a school can earn is an A. So, while your child is getting graded for reading fluency, writing readiness, and math mastery, we’re getting graded for student achievement, school performance, and closing the gaps. 

As a network, IDEA ranked in the top 25% of all school in Texas. Nearly 90% of eligible IDEA schools in Texas received an A or B rating, in addition to 8 IDEA schools earning all eligible distinctions.

Although IDEA received one of the top ratings in Texas with an overall score of 89, we had 2 schools earn a D rating and 5 schools receive a C rating.  We believe in being honest about our successes and shortcomings, and we fell short at these 7 schools.

We are committed to delivering on our promise of college for all.  That is the promise we made to every one of the nearly 53,000 students who walked through our doors this month at each of our campuses in Texas and Louisiana.
