Success Starts Here: Free Resources to Keep Your AR Scholar Reading Over Break

As our scholars prepare for an extended spring break, it is more important than ever to ensure that your child reads as much as possible.

In addition to preventing boredom and a regression in skills, reading just one hour per day can help improve student performance in school. In fact, the American Library Association (ALA) has found that students who read independently become better readers, score higher on achievement tests in all subject areas, and have greater content knowledge than those who do not.

Multiple studies support that even a small amount of independent reading increases primary and elementary students’ reading comprehension, vocabulary growth, spelling facility, understanding of grammar, and knowledge of the world.

We encourage all families to have their scholar read for at least 60 minutes each day. Students may access free books online via Clever using the login information below:
