IDEA Seniors in the RGV Reveal College Decisions at College Signing Day 2022

After a two-year hiatus from in-person College Signing Day events, IDEA seniors in the Rio Grande Valley revealed their college decisions in front of friends, family, and scholars over three days at the Bert Ogden Arena in Edinburg, Texas. This season of joy and celebration is proof of the hard work and effort our Team and Family invest in achieving our mission of College for All.

Over the course of three days, over 1,200 seniors from 15 IDEA campuses in the Rio Grande Valley have a combined 7,076 college acceptances, with 12 acceptances to Ivy League schools and 9 Dell Scholar Finalists. Over 75% of the class of 2022 have been accepted to top-tier schools. Collectively, the region also received millions of dollars in scholarship funding.

Three scholars received the first annual Judy and Al Lopez Scholar award for $10,000 in memory of IDEA’s late Acting CEO. Recipients included Miguel Rodriguez from IDEA Alamo, Daniela Santiago from IDEA Pharr, and Jose de Jesus Mariscal from IDEA North Mission.

Students from this year’s graduating class have been accepted to MIT, University of Chicago, University of Pennsylvania, Boston University, Northeastern University, Harvard University, University of Notre Dame, and many more.

We would like to congratulate each scholar of the graduating class of 2022 and their families on this momentous occasion and invite our entire Team & Family and the community to help us congratulate the collective success of the IDEA Class of 2022!
