IDEA Quest’s Girls Soccer Team Kicks it into Gear to Win District

The lady IDEA Quest Trailblazers are bringing home the District 31-4A record after being name with UIL Girls District Champions in varsity soccer. This is the first district championship for the school’s soccer program.

Junior Alexa Salas was recently quoted in an RGV Sports article about the team’s perseverance and their win, saying, “It was an amazing feeling because we worked really hard for this. We are lucky enough to have a field. Some other teams have a little bit more than us. They might have a bigger weight room, but we use what we have. We focus, we train. Our main goal was that, and it was just an amazing feeling.”

Their first-place district title was secured on March 19 with a 3-2 win over Hidalgo High School, which won district for four consecutive years prior.

IDEA’s Athletics Director, Eren Kirksey, is thrilled that IDEA Quest is setting the bar for IDEA athletics, saying, “This amazing win helps showcase the “Whole Scholar-Athlete” as part of the woven fabric of our organizational culture. This win was simply outstanding.”

The lady Trailblazers will begin playoff season on Friday, March 29 with a bi-district match at Hidalgo High School.
