Beginning early next week, the IDEA Public Schools Child Nutrition Program (CNP) will be proudly serving FREE meals during Spring Break to any child ages 2 – 18! Each meal bundle will contain 21 meals, designed to serve one child breakfast, lunch and supper for one week.
This service is an incredible opportunity to serve our scholars and the children of our communities as we continue to deliver on our promise to provide access to nutritious meals. Providing this service at no cost to participants also allows us to support families who may be experiencing financial difficulties due to the economic impacts of COVID-19.
If you would like to participate in this fantastic program, please read below to find the dates and times for your region and how to sign up for these bundles. Signing up is not required to receive a meal bundle and does not guarantee that you will get one (distribution is while supplies last). However, it does help each campus correctly plan the number of meals we need to prepare.
Regional & Campus Distribution Schedule
Monday, March 8: IDEA San Antonio
All IDEA San Antonio campuses except IDEA South Flores will have meal pick-up from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Monday, March 8. Please fill out the form here to sign up any child in your household that would like to participate. They do not need to attend IDEA Public Schools.
Thursday, March 11: IDEA Tarrant County
All IDEA Tarrant County will begin serving meal bundles on Thursday, March 11, at dismissal. No sign-up is required. Please contact your campus directly if you have any questions.
Friday, March 12: IDEA El Paso
All IDEA El Paso campuses will have meal pick-up from 7 a.m. – 11 a.m. on Friday, March 12. Please fill out the form here to sign up any child in your household that would like to participate. They do not need to attend IDEA Public Schools.
Monday, March 15: IDEA Rio Grande Valley
Each IDEA Rio Grande Valley campus is offering meals at different designated times on Monday, March 15. Please see the chart below to find your campus and meal pick-up time. If your campus does not have a time listed, please contact your campus directly for more information.

Monday, March 15: IDEA Austin

Friday, April 2: IDEA Southern Louisiana
IDEA Bridge and IDEA Innovation in Baton Rouge will have meal pick-up from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. on Friday, April 2. IDEA Oscar Dunn will have meal pick-up from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday, April 2.

All meals are provided via curbside pick–up only on a first come, first serve basis. All children in the community that are 2 to 18 years are eligible for meal service at any school location. Campuses are also distributing all meals before the bundle as normal.
Due to regulations from the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA), if a child is not present in the car, parents must be able to show proof of child identity in order to receive meals.
Forms of identification include:
- Official letter/email from school listing children enrolled
- Individual student report cards
- Attendance record from parent portal of school website
- Birth certificate for children
- Student ID cards
