EL PASO, Texas (August 29, 2017) – IDEA Public Schools recently announced the locations of its schools in El Paso, TX. In the first year, these schools will collectively serve more than 1,000 students in El Paso in grades Pre-K through 1st and 6th. The campuses will add a grade level until they serve Pre-K through 12th grade in 2024. IDEA Edgemere Academy and College Prep will be located on Edgemere Boulevard, and IDEA Rio Vista Academy and College Prep will be located in Soccorro off Rio Vista.
“We are excited about the development of our first IDEA schools in El Paso,” said Ernesto Cantu, the executive director of IDEA El Paso. “We look forward to serving and supporting students, families, and community members in El Paso. Our top priority is providing a quality education to El Paso students that will prepare them for college and life.”
For the past 17 years, IDEA has remained 100% committed to giving every student a college-ready public education. IDEA Public Schools was founded in the Rio Grande Valley in 2000. Since then, IDEA has opened schools in Austin and San Antonio. Based on the demand from parents for more high-performing public schools that prepare their children for college, IDEA is growing within Texas and beyond.
IDEA is a community of 61 tuition-free public schools in Texas, serving more than 36,000 students. Our focus on personalized learning, core subjects, critical thinking and college preparedness results in all of our students being accepted to college. IDEA’s expert teachers partner with students and families every step of the way to ensure students are prepared for success in college and life.
