IDEA Public Schools’ College Signing Day season is underway with our second celebration for the Class of 2022 in Austin, Texas. It is the event that families, staff, and graduating seniors look forward to most each year at IDEA Public Schools. It is a season of joy and celebration as the hard work of our Team & Family proves our mission of College For All.
After a two-year hiatus, seniors from IDEA Montopolis and IDEA Rundberg and scholars from IDEA Bluff Springs, IDEA Kyle, IDEA Parmer Park, IDEA Pflugerville, IDEA Health Professions, and IDEA Round Rock Tech attended College Signing Day at the Palmer Events Center in Austin to reveal their college decision for the first time to nearly 5,000 friends, family, and IDEA scholars.
The IDEA Austin Class of 2022 is comprised of 159 seniors who earned over 800 college acceptances with 26% of those acceptances to Tier 1 and over 50% to Tier 2 schools. The IDEA Austin Class of 2022 also celebrated 5 Dell Scholar finalists with 2 QuestBridge Scholarship matches. IDEA Montopolis senior Juan Sanchez also became the first IDEA Austin recipient of the $10,000 Judy and Al Lopez Scholar award in memory of IDEA’s late acting CEO. Collectively, the IDEA Austin Class of 2022 received over $7 million in scholarship funds. Almost 95% of IDEA Austin seniors will be first-generation college students and are performing on par with scholars from the best schools in the nation.
Students from this year’s graduating class have been accepted to Cornell, Brown, Emory, Boston U, Drexel, The George Washington University, Kalamazoo, Texas A&M, and IDEA Austin’s hometown school of the University of Texas.

The celebration continues next month in South Texas with three days of College Signing Day in the Rio Grande Valley on May 16, 17, and 18. We can’t wait to continue celebrating our graduating classes throughout IDEA during this joyful season!
