As leaders, mentors, and educators, teachers are at the heart of our schools. In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, we would like to salute our teachers for their hard work and dedication as they transform the lives of our students. While every week is a time to be grateful for IDEA teachers, we want to say, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you for all that you do to ensure every IDEA student is receiving the education they deserve.
It has been an exciting few weeks here at IDEA Public Schools. Recently, IDEA was awarded the highest multi-year grant in our history as a testament to the work of our students and teachers. In addition, for the 11th consecutive year, IDEA college preparatory schools in the Rio Grande Valley were ranked among the best performing high schools in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. This annual list of rankings reflects the rigor and success of our commitment to our scholars on the road to success in college and in life.
In April, there was no greater testament to the work of our teachers than when seniors from across three regions announced their commitment to attend college in front of their families and the community at our annual College Signing Day events. Of the 1,185 graduating seniors in the Class of 2019, 752 will be first generation college students—our largest group ever.
While all of IDEA continues to celebrate every new milestone, we know that none of this success would be possible without the passion, hard work, patience, dedication and the love of our teachers. At IDEA, we believe that great teachers deserve to be recognized and rewarded. It is because of every IDEA educator, Pre-K through 12, that we as an organization are building a legacy of student achievement and College For All.
On behalf of everyone at IDEA Public Schools, we thank you for the work that you do, and are so happy that you are part of our Team & Family.
If you’re reading this and are not an IDEA educator, we’d love for you to consider joining our family! Click here to learn more about career opportunities at IDEA.
Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!
