Welcome to the Team & Family, IDEA Elsa!
On Tuesday, September 25, IDEA Public Schools gathered with community leaders, board members, IDEA students, and others to celebrate the official ribbon cutting of one of our newest campuses, IDEA Elsa.
The blossoming campus opened on August 13 for the 2018-2019 school year, welcoming approximately 733 students in grades Pre-K through 2nd and 6th-7th. Faculty and staff spent months preparing for the school’s official opening and are proud to offer area students the best education possible coupled with increased educational opportunities.
During the ceremony, IDEA Elsa College Preparatory Principal and Elsa native, Antonio Garza, vocalized his commitment to ensuring better educational outcomes for students from his community. He also introduced one of his College Preparatory students, 6th grader Ily Ramirez, who is the school’s first Royal Reader.
“My eyes are set on going to Rice or Yale University to major in journalism, and I know IDEA Elsa will help me achieve my goal of getting to and through college. The caring teachers, the AP classes and programs they provide, like the Royal Readers, will help me succeed,” said Ily during the event.
With 79 schools currently serving nearly 45,000 students in five regions, IDEA is committed to ensuring that all students are prepared to succeed on the road to and through college and has achieved a 100 percent college acceptance rate twelve years in a row.
