Nora E. Perez is a native of Mission, Texas, and a graduate of Mission High School. After completing a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas-Pan American, she began her educational career as a classroom teacher in the La Joya Independent School District. There she taught for eight years as a bilingual Pre-K, 1st grade, 2nd grade and 4th grade teacher. She also worked in La Joya ISD as a Reading Specialist and serviced a Gifted & Talented population. In the past twelve years, she led both elementary and secondary schools as an Assistant Principal.
Nora is excited to use her extensive experience as a classroom teacher and as an instructional leader to lead IDEA Academy Edinburg.
As an individual with a background in sports competition, Nora’s drive to succeed is a big part of her identity. She plans to lead her students to achieve success by teaching them to be responsible, respectful, independent learners who take pride in themselves and their community.
As the founding principal of IDEA Academy Edinburg, Nora is committed to ensuring that all her students are challenged to their highest potential and that they are college ready. She will do “Whatever It Takes” to achieve this goal.
